Integral renovation of an outdated apartment in Barcelona
Architects: Raúl Sánchez Architects
Location: Córcega, 89 (Barcelona)
Floor space: 110 m²
This office space located in Barcelona was converted into a home that boasts large and open spaces, where the location of each room is implied and suggested without segregating them. The result is a space that can be comfortably occupied by several people at the same time.
Some of the pillars and concrete beams were left visible to highlight the underlying structure of the space. In the living room, there are two exits onto the patio through large shop-like windows whose frame is only visible from the outside, giving the impression that there is no window when viewed from the inside. The door is hung from the inside with thick frames for a sensation of mass and resistance. As a whole, the facade is a clean space with no embedded frames and a white microcement finish.
