Turnkey single-family home project in Vallromanes
Architects: Twobo
Location: Vallromanes (Barcelona)
Constructed area: 290 m² distributed in ground floor and first floor.
Newly built detached family house on a plot of 970 m2. The house consists of two floors, ground and first, which have been precisely integrated into the slope of the land to allow direct access and, at the same time, subtly conceal the existing unevenness of the plot. The main structure is made up of solid reinforced concrete pillars and slabs, except for the roof of the double space on the first floor, which has been built using a framework of metal profiles and laminated wooden beams.
Around two of the façades, the building’s structure extends to form concrete pergolas that envelop the exterior spaces, filtering the light and giving them their own personality. Above the main floor is the volume that houses the double living room space, which has been clad on the outside with mini-wave metal panels lacquered in the same colour as the exterior joinery.
In order to achieve the most efficient possible housing and the highest possible energy rating, large thicknesses of thermal insulation have been used during construction, both in the roof and in the façades, and external enclosures with low-emission glazing and solar control. In this sense, the heating installation has been carried out through an underfloor heating powered by aerothermal energy.
